It’s a question that’s been bouncing around for a while, as it’s been suggested that the next big thing for resorts will come from the US.
While many are already making moves, it appears that the UK could be next to jump on the bandwagon.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Disney is eyeing the likes the Villas at Epcot and The Lodge at Walt Disney World Resort.
The resort in France, which opened last month, has already been bought out by the French government and is now the largest resort in the world.
The villas and resort were designed by Belgian firm LVMH.
The hotel is currently being remodelled, but the property is already in the final stages of being refurbished.
LVMh has also said it will open a brand new villa in 2019 at Disney World in Florida, and is set to open two new resorts, including The Lodge in Mexico in 2019 and the Villanels at Epco in 2019.
The Villas and the resort will be the next to go, after The Lodge, and will cost an estimated £1.2 billion.
Meanwhile, Disney’s Villas resort in Australia is already under construction, and the company has said it expects to open a new resort in 2020, a project that will be in addition to the Villa Resort in France.
